Police search for gate pole thief

VERO BEACH — Police are looking for a man who broke a gate pole and then stole it from a parking garage, officials said.

Between 11 p.m. and midnight July 24, an unknown man kicked the gate pole at the west entrance of the 3001 Ocean Drive parking garage in Vero Beach. The pole then broke and the incident was captured on surveillance photos.

The man then took the pole worth $400 from the property, police said. He is described as white, having a white shirt, blue shorts, white sneakers, mid top white socks and a grey hat.
