Two hurt after crash in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — Two people were hurt after a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon, a Florida Highway Patrol official said.

Troopers responded to the crash involving two cars shortly after 5 p.m. at Indian River Boulevard and 12th Street, just north of the Indian River Aquatic Reserve in Vero Beach, according to FHP. Two people were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.

They appear to have nonlife-threatening injuries, FHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.

The crash closed all lanes in the immediate area. All lanes reopened by 8 p.m., according to the FHP traffic site.
