VERO BEACH — A 30-year-old man was arrested after deputies said he kicked a pregnant woman during a food fight at an apartment.
Eddie Robert Yaddow, of the 1800 block of Woodland Circle, Vero Beach, was charged with aggravated battery. He is being held at the Indian River County Jail on $10,000 bond, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene about 2:30 p.m. July 1 to an apartment in the 1800 block of Woodland Circle, an arrest report states. They spoke to a woman who had blue cake frosting in her hair.
She told deputies she was arguing with her brother Yaddow about who should discipline her child. When the argument escalated, she picked up frosted cupcakes and threw them at Yaddow, deputies said.
Deputies spoke with the woman’s mother and Yaddow, who told them Yaddow wiped the frosting off his arms and put it in her hair. They also said Yaddow kicked the woman in the stomach and both began throwing cans of food at each other, deputies said.
Yaddow admitted he knew the woman was pregnant, deputies said. He was arrested and taken to the county jail for booking.
