(NAPSI)—There’s a new car sharing option in Washington, D.C. that makes it easier to travel if you don’t have a car or if the car you have just isn’t the one you need. Whether it’s meeting friends for brunch at Le Diplomate, a relaxing weekend out of the city or using it when the Metro is down, Maven, the new car sharing service from General Motors, ensures you are set to travel.
What It Is
Using an exclusive smartphone app, drivers can seamlessly reserve a Maven vehicle. Simply download the Maven app and use it to search for and reserve vehicles by model or location. Unlock and start the vehicle directly from your smartphone, get in and go—no keys necessary.
In most cases, you can even use the app to extend your reservation if you need a little more time with your Maven. And when you’re done, just drop it off at the same station at which you picked it up and then hit “end” in the app to complete your drive.
With prices starting at $8 an hour, registered users have access to 40 General Motors vehicles at 10 sites throughout D.C. And unlike other car sharing options, the vehicle includes gas, insurance and roadside assistance.
What You Get
Maven members can enjoy an affordable on-demand car sharing service at an hourly or daily basis.
From the hybrid Chevrolet Volt to the Cadillac Escalade, users have a choice of General Motors vehicles.
Every vehicle in the Maven fleet is equipped with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®, as well as OnStar®, Sirius XM® radio and 4G LTE® wireless. With this seamless technology, users can easily integrate their music, contacts and more for a personalized driving experience.
Building on more than two decades of connectivity and service provided by OnStar, each vehicle provides an ownership experience with the convenience of car sharing.
Where Are The Cars?
Vehicles in the system are at 10 stations around the city, including Columbia Heights, Judiciary Square and Foggy Bottom.
Just open the app, select the car you want at the location of your choosing and hit reserve.
With vehicles in 17 U.S. and Canadian cities and more than 79 million miles driven, Maven is the go-to car sharing service for thousands of Americans.
