Car Sharing Made Easier For Every Chicagoan

(NAPSI)—The next time you need a ride in Chicago, you may be glad to learn there’s a new way to get around the city. Whether it’s a night out at Entente or Smyth, a trip to Lake Geneva for the weekend or a game at Wrigley Field to cheer on the World Series champs, a new on-demand car sharing service can have you covered.

What It Is

The system, known as Maven from General Motors, uses an exclusive smartphone app to seamlessly link drivers and their reserved vehicle.

You simply download the app and use it to search for and reserve vehicles, by model or location. Unlock and start the vehicle directly from your smartphone, get in and go—no keys needed. In most cases, you can also use the app to extend your reservation if you need more time with the car.

When you’re done with your drive, just drop your car off at the same station at which you picked it up. Then hit “end” in the app to complete your trip.

There are no monthly membership or application fees, and fuel and insurance are included.

With vehicles in 17 U.S. and Canadian cities and more than 79 million miles driven, it’s the go-to car sharing service for thousands of Americans.

What You Can Get

The system offers an affordable on-demand car sharing service at an hourly or daily basis.

From the Chevrolet Volt to the GMC Yukon, users have the choice of Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac vehicles.

Every vehicle in the fleet is equipped with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto®, as well as OnStar®, Sirius XM® radio and 4G LTE® wireless. With this technology, users can seamlessly integrate their smartphone for a personalized experience.

With prices starting at $8 an hour, registered customers can use the app to reserve one of 30 vehicles at more than 15 sites throughout the city. Each vehicle includes gas, insurance and roadside assistance.

Building on two decades of vehicle connectivity and service provided by OnStar, each vehicle provides an ownership experience with the convenience of car sharing.

Where Is It?

There are vehicles located in more than 15 lots around the city, including the West Loop, River North, the North Side and New East Side.

You just open the app, select the car you want at the location of your choosing and hit reserve.
