Roughly 250 participants and volunteers gathered Saturday morning at Quail Valley River Club to take part in the Quail Valley Charities 15th annual Charity Cup Week’s Kickoff 1-Mile Kids’ Fun Run & 5K Walk/Run.
The hit of the morning was Truman, the gorgeous 9-month-old St. Bernard pup owned by Steve and Kathy Mulvey, who wanted nothing more than to run with the children.
The now two-week-long series of events, which also includes bridge, tennis, golf and gourmet dinners, culminates this Saturday with the Charity Cup Gala.
Funds benefit local nonprofit programs that have a focus on children and education.
