Shirley M. Lodovico, 81, of Vero Beach passed away at Grace Rehabilitation Center on Oct. 20, 2016.
She is survived by her loving husband Daniel Lodovico of Vero Beach; daughters Laurie (Todd) Bardes of Lebanon, Conn., and Kathleen Lodovico of Farmington, Conn.; her two amazing grandsons that she loved beyond words, Raymond Bardes of South Norwalk, Conn., and Steven Bardes of Lebanon, Conn.
Lodovico was born in Meriden, Conn., and grew up in Southington, Conn., where she lived and met the love of her life, Dan Lodovico, while playing golf at Pine Valley Country Club.They married and raised their two wonderful daughters in Bristol, Conn.
During this time she also worked at Bradlee’s Department Store, served as president of the parent teacher association of St. Anthony’s School, and never missed a sporting event that her daughters were participating in.
For their golden years, she and Dan decided to retire to Vero Beach. She was an avid golfer, reader, loved trips to the casino, and dining out. She was a member of the Central Valley Square Dancers of Farmington, Conn., the Vero Beach Drifters Golf League, and Holy Cross Catholic Church of Vero Beach.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 25, 2016, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
A second Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Oct. 29, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
