SEBASTIAN — A Thursday night boat explosion in the Indian River Lagoon has sent one to the Orlando Burn Center.
The explosion happened on one of the spoil islands southeast of 1130 Indian River Drive, Sebastian, according to authorities. One male patient was on board and suffered 15 to 20 percent burns over his body with inhalation burns.
Indian River County Fire Rescue issued a trauma alert for the patient. The Indian River Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit will be taking the Fire Marshal over to investigate.
