INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The School District announced Sunday afternoon that it would resume classes Monday after closing for Hurricane Matthew.
St. Helen Catholic School posted on social media that they follow the public school with regard to school closure. St. Edward’s School is also back in session.
The county’s Emergency Operations Center sent out the following news alert: “The School District of Indian River County will be open for school at all sites on Monday, Oct. 10 with normal hours of operation including extended day.”
“We are pleased to report that all schools are fully operational and experienced minimal damage. School representatives have visited each school to assess and ensure the conditions are safe for students and staff to return,” the email states.
