INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Today, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m. is the deadline to register for the county’s Pet-Friendly emergency shelter, at Liberty Magnet School, 6850 81st St.
Your dog or cat must have proof of rabies vaccination. The best way to register is to stop by the Humane Society, at 6230 77th St. The Pet-Friendly Shelter should be considered a last resort, because space is limited. Unless you are ordered to evacuate, the best place for you pet is with you, at home or with friends or family.
