Debby Hollingsworth, 94, of Vero Beach passed away at home on Sept. 30, 2016.
She is survived by her son Robert Hollingsworth, Jr. and daughter, Beth Ryder; her grandchildren, James Ryder (Maritza), Robin Ryder, Nancy Smith, Carol Alberts, Lydia Burroughs (Mitchell), Jackson Hemrick, Robert Hollingsworth, III (Leigh), Kristina Hollingsworth; and great-grandchildren Holly Tomlinson (Aaron), Heather Smith, Hillary Smith, Haley Smith, Jennifer Alberts, Jacob Hollingsworth, Hayden Hollingsworth, Hensleigh Hollingsworth; three great-great-grandchildren, Jacob Alberts, Olivia Ault and James Tomlinson; and special friends, Isabelle Smith, Clay Poole, Karen Westberry, Janice Barriner and Charlie Mae Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hollingsworth and her daughter Judy Ann Hemrick.
Hollingsworth was born June 30, 1922 in Manhattan, N.Y. to the late Leo and Jessie Rosenthal. She has lived in Vero Beach for the past 10 years and prior to that in St. Lucie County and Miami.
She retired as the purchasing director for Coulter Electrons in Hialeah, Fla., and moved to Port St. Lucie where she started a new career at the age of 73, as a small business owner of Wallpaper Sales in Jensen Beach. After she sold the store she volunteered at Mustard Seed Ministries and retired again at the age 83.
She loved to travel and was always ready to take a trip. Her family always came first and enjoyed many fun times sharing her many trips. She enjoyed watching all sports and attended many Miami Dolphins games. She was dearly loved and admired for her spirit and strength and will be missed by family and friends.
She will join her husband at Arlington Cemetery.
