Donald H. Willey, 88, of Vero Beach passed away in Hartford, Conn. Sept. 25, 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Taylor Willey; his children John, Kathleen, and Donald, Jr. (Helen); one grandchild; Joyce’s sons, Warren (Victoria), Jeffrey, Raymond (Kathleen) and James Taylor and four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Anne Willey and his two brothers, Richard and Robert.
He was retired from the Connecticut Department Of Transportation in Norwich, Conn. He was an expert on Early American Coin Silver Spoons, he was a wonderful Ballroom Dancer and won several Jitterbug contests with his wife Joyce.
He and Joyce also enjoyed Cruising and visited ports in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He was a lifelong Dodger fan and attended games at Ebbets Field and later worked at the Dodgertown Spring Training facility in Vero Beach. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Vero Beach.
