INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against the Sheriff’s Office by the ex-wife of the inmate who died last year.
The suit was filed Monday. Mitchell “Brad Martinez, 37, arrived at the Indian River County Jail unconscious May 29, 2015. He died 5 days later at the Indian River Medical Center.
Cause of death was ruled to be an adverse reaction to Adderall, said the District 19 Chief Mecial Examiner Roger Mittleman.
The ex-wife, Jill Alexander is asking for at least $75,000 in damages, according to the lawsuit.
