Dr. Harold Schulman, Vero Beach

Dr. Harold Schulman, of Vero Beach and Hutchinson Island, passed away of heart disease on Sept. 17, 2016, at his home in Pleasantville, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife Rosemarie; children Stanley Harold Schulman of Bedford N.Y., Sandra Carol Schulman of Miami; Gina Marin Schulman Riback of Los Angeles, Calif.; and grandson Miles Joseph Riback.

As a pioneering physician, he is considered the grandfather of maternal fetal ultrasound, was Professor and Chairman of OBGYN at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Winthrop University Hospital.

During his tenure at Einstein which spanned 12 years, he oversaw the OBGYN Departments of Einstein and four New York City hospitals – Jacobi Medical Center, Lincoln Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center, and Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center.

He was a candidate for Rhodes Scholar, has published over 185 scientific papers, and published three books on women health.

Schulman was a resident of Vero Beach and Hutchinson Island for 30 years.
