Christopher Lewis, Vero Beach

Christopher “Coach” Lewis, of Vero Beach, formerly of Beverly and Hamilton, Mass., passed away on Sept. 17, 2016.

He is survived by his devoted wife Diane Lewis; his children Christopher Lewis of Massachusetts, David Lewis of Connecticut, Wendy Lewis Spence of New Hampshire and Laura Lewis Truncali (Kristopher) of Connecticut; brothers George (Patricia) Lewis of California and Melvin Lewis of Massachusetts; also his devoted cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his surrogate son, Darell Flowers.

Lewis was born in Lynn, Mass. He was the son of the late Cleo (Papanicolou) and Stephen Lewis.

He was a dedicated educator and coach for 35 years in Lynn and Beverly, Mass. His love for teaching and coaching continued after retirement to Vero Beach. He was the assistant varsity basketball coach, former girl’s basketball, middle school tennis, and 6th grade football coach at Saint Edwards School in Vero Beach for 15 years. His devotion to his family and students were his life.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and lived and loved his life to the fullest.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 5, 2016, at Saint Edwards.
