Esther Elizabeth Burns, Vero Beach

Esther Elizabeth Burns, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sept. 15, 2016.

She is survived by her husband Jim; their children, Jim (Wendy) Burns, Richard (Kate) Burns, Patrice (Bill) Stapleton, Kevin (Kathy) Burns, Lisa (Ron) Trella and Laura (Kris) Nielsen; and 19 grandchildren.

Burns was born to the late Theodore and Rosalie Lussier on March 16, 1923, in Lowell, Mass. She married the love of her life, James Burns, in 1952. The couple came to Vero Beach from Rockville Centre, N.Y., in 1986.

She was a devoted and loving mother and active member of St. Helen Catholic Church. They were often visited by their children and grandchildren. She and her husband loved to travel and enjoyed playing golf with their friends.

A visitation will be held on Sept. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sept. 19, at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
