Alvin Lee Scott, 71, of Sebastian, passed away on Sept. 2, 2016, at VNA Hospice in Vero Beach.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mother Dorothy Scott of Sebastian, FL; three sons, Alvin Lee Scott, Jr., Mervin Scott (Terri) and Michael Scott; three daughters, Garnetha Williams (Willie), Lisa Bradley (Scott) and Tamia Scott, all of Cleveland, Ohio; two nieces, Mykeal and Natalliyah, who are being raised as his children whom he loved and adored so much; 23 grandchildren including a grandson, Deacon Terry Wallace (Zenobia LaShay) who was so faithful and dedicated to his care and never complained no matter what time of day or night that his assistance was needed; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar and Obie Scott of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Roy (Herbert) of Fort Lauderdale, and Barbara Williams (Robert) of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Ilonia Edwards of St. Petersburg, Ethell Weaver of Tallahassee, and Annie Johnson of Wabasso; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Scott was born in Tifton, Ga., to the parents of the late Albert and Lucy B. Scott on July 23, 1945.
He was educated in the schools of Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Cleveland High School.
Before retirement, he was gainfully employed as a truck driver for a produce company.
Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Mervin, David and Jonah Scott; two sisters, Marjorie Hampton and Maryneall Hicks; and a son, Willie Stanley Jefferson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept.16, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Upper Room Temple in Wabasso, Fla. A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 17, 2016, at the church, 11 a.m., with Elder Darryl Lovett officiating and Elder Joe Jones, Jr. is the pastor.
