Nancy G. (DeBenedetto) Picciano, 77, of Vero Beach and New Fairfield, Conn., passed away at her home on Aug. 30, 2016.
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her two sons, Robert J. Picciano (Deidra) of New Fairfield, and Stephen Picciano of Tucson, Ariz.; her daughter Laurie Meyerson of Burlington, Vt.; and her four grandchildren, Trevor and Laura Stone, Elissa and Brooke Picciano.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Picciano was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on Jan. 21, 1939, daughter of the late Durando and Gay (Minchak) DeBenedetto.
She loved nature and animals. She was an avid gardener who designed and cultivated beautiful landscapes. A gifted artist, she enjoyed sketching, and painting in both oil and watercolors. Her creativity extended into the kitchen where she was a phenomenal cook, who lovingly passed this passion on to her sons. She and James also shared a love for boating in both Burlington, Vt., and Vero Beach, where they established great friendships.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield. Cremation and interment in Mountainview Cemetery will take place privately at a later date. There are no calling hours.
