Francine Zupancic Nelson, 70, of Vero Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 17, 2016.
She is survived by her daughter Elena Gerardi Bouyssou and her son-in-law Stephane H. Bouyssou of Fellsmere; her granddaughters Calais Autumn and Aviana Capri Bouyssou; and her sister Marie Pishko of Frisco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her mother Vera Zupancic and her father Joseph Zupancic.
Nelson was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 29, 1946. She graduated from Collinwood High School in 1964. To pursue her passion for travel and adventure, she began a career with United Airlines in September 1966 as a Flight Attendant dedicating 33 years of her service. Following retirement in Mariposa, Calif., she enjoyed volunteering at her local church serving others and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection teaching fire prevention with her personal canine partner, “Evie.”
She always had compassion for others. As a devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend, her family and friends were her life. She relocated to Vero Beach four years ago to be close to her family. She shared her unconditional love and amazing zest for life with her two little granddaughters. Her absolute favorite pastime was being their “Nona.” She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She is forever in our hearts.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 26, at St. John of the Cross, 7590 26th Street, Vero Beach. Viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Father John J. Pasquini will officiate.
