Loretta B. Farrell, 97, Vero Beach

Loretta B. Farrell, 97, of Vero Beach, passed away on her 97th birthday, Aug. 15, 2016, at VNA Hospice House with her famiy by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Jerry) Perkins; her son John B. (Jeanne) Wurzburger; grandchildren Leslie (Nick) Smiciklas, Jerry E. Perkins, and great- granddaughter, Summer Smiciklas all of Vero Beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband John D. Wurzburger, the father of her children, husband George J. Farrell, and grandson, Allen J. Perkins.

Farrell was born in Syracuse, N.Y. to Harry and Mary Louise Baxter. She was a secretary at Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, moving to Auburn, N.Y., with her husband John Wurzburger in 1942. Together they managed an accounting practice relocating with their children to Miami, Fla., in 1953.

She enjoyed all things Hawaiian, especially the music. She performed in a Hawaiian Dance Group on several cruise ships between Miami and Nassau in the Bahamas, from 1958 to 1960. She returned to her secretarial career as the office manager of Seminole Paper and Printing Co. in Miami.

In 1988, she retired with her husband, George Farrell, to her beloved Vista Harbor Community in Vero Beach. Farrell enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, and hosting her Saturday night cocktail parties.

Loretta will always be remembered for her unconditional love and support of her family, her beautiful smile, and the wonderful friendships she shared with so many.

Interment will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with a memorial service to follow at a later date at Vista Harbor Community Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Vero Beach Exchange Club Student Scholarship Fund, P.O Box 2648, Vero Beach, Fl. 32961.
