John R. Dunson, 59, Vero Beach

John Rollin Dunson, 59, of Vero Beach passed away on Aug. 16, 2016, at VNA Hospice House.

He is survived by his ex-spouse, Rita Harpin; daughters Angela Laycock and Tami Williams; son John Dunson; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Jerry Howe and grandchild, Taylor Dunson.

Dunson was born Aug. 28, 1956, in Oakland, Md., to the late Edwin and Vera Dunson.

He was raised in Eau Gallie before later moving to Vero Beach.

Dunson had many eventful careers that included truck driver, painting planes at Piper Airport, installing doors and windows for a family business, skating, and even had the opportunity to work for the fair and travel as a “carny.”

He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, in Vero Beach.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church on Aug. 24.
