Recreation Department to cut the ribbon for new ‘iG’ rec center Aug. 17

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Recreation Department will host a ribbon cutting event for its Intergenerational Recreation Center and Event Venue, dubbed the ““iG Center,” on Aug. 17.

Indian River County Recreation Department will have their ribbon cutting ceremonies promptly at 10 a.m. introducing the iG Center to the public. Post ceremony, the Recreation Department will be doing tours of the facility for those that attend the event.

The Intergenerational (iG) Recreation Center is Indian River County’s response to the growing demand for an indoor recreation facility. Its mission is to provide a state of the art facility featuring diverse recreational programming to serve residents and user groups of all ages.

Tours will consist of viewing the iG center’s features such as:

• Gymnasium with hardwood flooring, in floor volleyball net system, concession area

• Five Multi-purpose rooms

• Twp Activity rooms – Take note of the upgraded room with back-lit tray ceiling &

bamboo flooring.

• Access to five Library Computer stations equipped with the Indian River County Library catalogues and E-Research systems.

• Stunning Veranda with views of our water features and don’t miss the courtyard adorned with art deco furniture.
