Gizella “Babe” Zima Ballas, of Sebastian, passed away on Aug. 10, 2016, at Consulate Health Care in Vero Beach, after a prolonged illness.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Ballas of Sebastian, John Ballas of Crescent, Pa., and Edward A. Ballas of Reno, Nev.; and grandchildren Melody Ballas, Bethany Ballas and Joshua Ballas all of Reno, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Ballas, Sr., sister Anne Latuk; and brother Nickolas Zima.
Ballas was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a resident of Indian River County for 41 years coming from Newbury, Ohio. Before her retirement she worked for Keens Supermarket in Vero Beach. She was of the Russian Orthodox faith.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to VNA Hospice House.
