Vero man held in drive-by shooting

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man was arrested after he allegedly fired shots from an AR-15 rifle into a home.

On Saturday around 10 p.m., authorities made contact with a homeowner in the 1100 block of 37th Avenue after discovering bullet holes in the unoccupied residence.

The suspect, Thomas Frost, 34, was arrested and faces charges including felony discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, felony criminal mischief, and misdemeanor violation of injunction protection, according to the booking report.

The suspect allegedly took the rifle from his cousin’s home, was driven to the 37th Avenue location, and fired on the residence. Upon his arrest, the affidavit said, the rifle was found in the vehicle, as were four AR-15 magazines and three spent shell casings.

Frost is being held at the Indian River County Jail in lieu of $55,000 bond.
