Joseph Piazza Jr., 82, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Aug. 2, 2016, at the hospice house of Vero Beach with his family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Joan Correll Piazza of Vero Beach; children Lori Piazza Johnson of Vero Beach, Glen Piazza of Sebastian, Judyth Piazza of Houston; five grandchildren, Jenae Scarborough, Zachary Rider, Tucker Joines, Hillary Joines, and Kristy Maxson; and two great- grandchildren, Jaxson Rider and Olive Scarborough.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brooke Nicole Johnson.
Piazza was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 17, 1934. He attended Lindenhurst High School where he learned to play the slide trombone and trumpet. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corps marching band. Joe was the owner of Joe’s Organ Shop and played the piano and organ. He was a member of the Italian American Civic Association, Italian American War Veterans, and the Vero Beach Computer Group.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m., at the 20th Ave Church of God. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the 20th Ave Church of God.
