James Maxcy Pond, 76, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 17, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Pond; sons Jonathan Pond and Grady Welchel; daughter-in-law Ky Welchel; granddaughters Taylor, Morgan and Grayson Welchel, all residing in Vero Beach; sister Sara Ellis; niece Susan Ellis, both of Polk County as well as many cousins.
Pond was born in Gainesville, Fla., and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He was well respected and knowledgeable in the citrus industry in South Florida. He was extraordinarily generous, kind hearted and will be missed by many.
