INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Treasure Coast Elementary is one of only nine schools in the state chosen by the Florida Association of School Administrators to participate in the pilot program, Florida Instructional Leadership Team Initiative (ILTI), during the upcoming school year.
Principal Kelly Baysura, along with four other Treasure Coast Elementary staff members, will participate in a year-long, job-embedded professional learning opportunity designed to deepen instructional leadership skills for improving instruction.
The ILTI is focused on improving instructional leadership effectiveness and follows the Center for Educational Leadership’s (CEL’s) theory of action that student learning will not improve until the quality of teaching improves, and that the quality of teaching will not improve, until leaders understand what constitutes high quality instruction, along with the role they play in improving teacher practice.
“Treasure Coast Elementary is the perfect choice. Kelly and her staff are constantly seeking to improve their practice and provide the best experience for their students. They exemplify the growth mindset,” said Dr. Mark Rendell, School District of Indian River County Superintendent.
