Virginia O. Luther, 99, of Vero Beach, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 14, 2016.
She is survived by her son James K. Davis of Vero Beach; grandchildren Renee P. Davis of Charleston, W.Va., Sean M. Davis of Tampa, and Amber E. Hays of Las Vegas, Nev.; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Dr. Wesley C. Luther and William J. Davis.
Luther graduated from Bennett High School and began her singing career with several Buffalo radio stations.
She was a contralto soloist with Central Presbyterian Church as well as other churches in New York City, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Bradenton, Fla.
Luther was a member of the Wednesday Morning Musical and a lifelong member of the Beulah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Hamburg, N.Y.
She will be remembered by friends and family for her kind, loving spirit and generosity.
Interment will be at Williamsville Cemetery in N.Y.
A private family service is planned.
