SEBASTIAN — Indian River Drive was crowded with thousands of people cheering and applauding the numerous floats and marchers coming down the street to celebrate the Fourth of July.
From the Color and Honor Guards and the Marching Sharks to the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and politicians, there was no shortage of color, music and freebies handed out.
Following the parade, people flooded into Riverview Park to partake in ice cold refreshments, funnel cakes, fair food and other treats. Parents perused the vendors’ booths and children laughed and giggled in the fun Kids Zone.
The festivities continue until the fireworks show tonight at dusk at Riverview Park.
In Vero Beach, the Fourth of July fun gets started at 4 p.m. at Riverside Park on the Barrier Island near the Barber Bridge. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. and will be synchronized to patriotic music on 93.7 FM WGYL.
