INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County will be hosting a Zumba party to benefit the animals of Indian River County. Zumba is a fun form of exercise for anyone who enjoys working out to Latin beats and popular music.
The shelter’s Zumba fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Humane Society, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. The cost is $10 plus a donation of either a can or bag of pet food, a pet toy or gently used blanket or towel.
Zumba instructors Jose Ratto and Edwin Rivero have adopted dogs from the shelter and are donating their time to teach the class. Both wanted to do something to help the community’s many homeless animals. Ratto and Rivero teach at several local health clubs where their infectious style has created a huge following.
