Rose Mary Swiszowski, 99, Vero Beach

Rose Mary Swiszowski, 99, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 8, 2016.

Swiszowski was the beloved wife of late Nicholas, loving mother of children Philip, late Patricia, and daughter and son-in-law Janet and Jerome. She will forever be missed and loved by her four grandchildren as well as four great-grandchildren; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

She spent her final days celebrating her 99th birthday with close family and friends. Originally from Detroit, Mich., Swiszowski resided in Florida since 2005. In that time, she made many close friends and had an everlasting impression on all those she encountered.

Swiszowski had a great love for people and an unwavering faith. She carried a pure heart of gold. Despite her age, her blessing of good health enabled her to always help and nurture those around her. In 2011, her selflessness permeated the local community when she single handedly put out a fire that saved her entire apartment complex.

All of those touched by her life will remember her as the outgoing, energetic, fun-loving, foodie, that she was. She could always light up a room with her natural grace and warmth. She always requested that when this time came, we celebrate her life rather than mourn her loss. She always said, “When the good Lord is ready to take me, I’m ready to go!”

Swiszowski lived every minute, with no regrets. She shared qualities we should all strive to inherit. She was a kind neighbor, loyal friend, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all. Find peace in knowing she is eating hearty and dancing as she smiles down on all of us. We thank her for enriching our lives and so many others with her beautiful soul.
