Kathryn Hope Johnson, 60, Vero Beach

Kathryn Hope Johnson (DeMario) (Boggess), 60, of Vero Beach, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 9, 2016.

She is survived by her daughter Allison Hoag of Bowling Green, Ohio; son Beau DeMario of Deland, Fla.; father Hugh H. Johnson Sr. of Vero Beach; stepson Ned Healy of Nashville, Tenn.; brother Hugh H. Johnson Jr. (Jodi) of Vero Beach; sisters Jeanne Clark (Thomas) and Margie Johnson (Jerre Luther) both of Vero Beach; grandson Nash; and five nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Johnson.

Johnson was born in Orlando and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years before moving to Palm Beach County where she lived for 30 years. She relocated back to Vero Beach from West Palm Beach 3.5 years ago. She was well known and loved for being an extraordinary cook and gracious entertainer, but she is most remembered for her endless kindness, and generosity.

She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Class of 1973. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga. Throughout her life, Johnson displayed a keen interest and talent in technology. Her input and skill were widely trusted.

Johnson deeply loved her family and friends, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her. She will be missed dearly for her unforgettable laughter and kindness that touched so many.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2016 at 5800 North Highway A1A, Vero Beach with a celebration of Kathy’s life to begin at 11 a.m.
