INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Arc of Indian River County is pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Young to The Arc Board of Directors.
Young was born and raised in Charleston, W.Va., and graduated from Georgia Institute in Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture.
He served in Korea for the US Army, then went on to become President of Shoney’s South, Inc. His service on various Boards include: Queens University, First Union Bank, Date B. Reynolds Health Care Trust, Union Theological Seminary, Davidson College Board of Visitors, Riverside Theater, Warren Wilson College, Presbyterian Church Foundation USA where he served as President and CEO and President of John’s Island Club.
Young and his wife Nancy truly believe in and support, the Arc’s Mission and Vision Statements: To support and empower individuals with special needs to achieve their life goals; and to advocate for full acceptance of individuals with special needs as valued members of the community.
With Young’s vast experience of Board service, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.
