Donald M. Rebar, 83, Vero Beach

Donald M. Rebar, 83, of Vero Beach, Strongsville, Ohio, and most recently Olmsted Falls, Ohio, passed away on June 3, 2016.

He was the loving father of Betsy Rebar Sell and Peter (Jolene); cherished grandfather of Trevor and Nicholas Rebar Sell and Michael and Hannah Rebar; loving brother of Elaine (David) Cook; adored uncle of Craig Cook (Jan Karman) and Holly Cook (Tim Sullivan); a continued friend to his former wife and mother of his children, Constance Rebar, whom he was married to for 53 years.

Rebar graduated as Cadet Major from Western Military Academy and was quarterback of their football team. He then attended Colgate University. He owned and operated Hy-Level Industries and retired in 2007. He also had many small business ventures.

A philanthropist, Rebar donated to his Alma Mater, Colgate University and to Baldwin Wallace University among numerous other places. An avid golfer, he was a member of many country clubs including Sharon Golf Club, Lakewood Country Club, John’s Island, Bent Pine, Black Diamond, and Double Eagle. Dogs held a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed reading, swimming, and supporting all Cleveland sports teams.

He cherished his family most and the memories made with his children and grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
