VERO BEACH — Demolition is underway at Beachland Elementary, clearing out the old cafeteria and making way for a new, more modern facility.
The School District recently approved plans to tear down the original cafeteria and an adjacent building to construct a new, larger cafetorium – a cafeteria/auditorium combo.
This is the first step in the $8 million overall project at Beachland, which includes a new school wing as well.
The entire project is scheduled to be complete by August 2017.
Beachland Elementary is located on the barrier island at the corner of Beachland Boulevard and Mockingbird Drive.
