Carolyn G. Ocker, 72, Vero Beach

Carolyn G. Ocker, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away on June 2, 2016, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, James G. Ocker Sr.; children William (Etta) Ocker of Sebastian, James G. Ocker Jr. of Troy, N.Y., Marcy (Wayne) Pierre of Melrose, N.Y., Sue (Bob) Wood of Troy, N.Y. and Debbie (Ron) Adamson of Roseland, Fla.; grandchildren James III and Mackenzie Ocker, Amanda, Michael and Katie Pierre, Zoe Wood, and Jessika Adamson; one great-granddaughter, Averie Pickering; sisters Terri Dunham, Maureen (Jerry) Opanowski and Mary Todd and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ocker was born to the late Homer and Blanche Gauthier on Sept. 3, 1943 in Troy, N.Y. She married her loving husband James “Jim” Ocker in 1969. Foremost, her main “priority” was raising her five loving children and being the “Rock” of the family.

While living in Troy, she worked at John J. Boland Beer Distributors for 17 years. After relocating to Vero Beach in 1988, Ocker worked for Flight Safety International as a Payroll Manager, retiring in 2006. She was an active member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
