INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two unrelated armed robberies occurred early Wednesday morning leading to the arrest of one suspect and a search for a second.
The first armed robbery occurred at the T.A. Truck Stop at 8909 20th St. and the other at the 7-Eleven on 1201 Old Dixie Highway, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
A lone gunman walked into each location, showed a weapon, and walked away with cash. No one was harmed in either robbery.
Around 1:24 a.m. the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of an armed robbery at the T.A. Truck Stop, according to authorities. Sheriff’s Deputies and K-9 arrived on scene and tracked the suspect to the Vero Beach Inn & Suites.
Deputies located a bicycle and a handgun under the stairwell at the Vero Beach Inn & Suites, where they identified Aaron Seymour, 19, of Lakeland as a suspect, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
In Seymour’s pocket they located nearly the exact dollar amount of cash taken from the T.A. Truck Stop, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Seymour was arrested and transported to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, where he made several admissions related to the robbery, according to authorities. Seymour faces charges of felony armed robbery with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held without bond.
At 2:40 a.m., the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Dispatch received another 911 call of an armed robbery, this time at the 7-Eleven at 1201 Old Dixie Highway.
Deputies responded and learned that a white male, approximately 5-feet-8, 150 pounds, wearing all black with his face concealed by a red cloth, walked into the store and presented a handgun to the clerk and demanded money. K-9 again responded, but lost the track where the unidentified suspect got into a vehicle.
“We are proud of the work of our men and women overnight to find and arrest Seymour and bring him to justice,” said Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar. “Now we need help from the public to identify and locate the suspect in the second armed robbery. Somebody knows this man and can help us put him behind bars where he belongs.”
