INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — They’re looking to get their ‘Fil.’
The clock is ticking down to the grand opening of the new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant in Vero Beach. Doors open at 6 a.m. Thursday and already the crowd is lining up.
The first 100 adults registered and who stay in line starting today will get a free Chick-fil-A meal each week for a year.
The eatery is located on Elon Way and faces State Road 60 near Olive Garden. Store hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and, as with all other Chick-fil-A stores, closed Sundays.
The 4,100-square-foot building features an indoor play area that is two stories tall, as well as a double drive-thru to accommodate hungry customers.
The Vero Beach Chick-fil-A will be operated by Michael Kelley, who currently runs the restaurant located in the Indian River Mall’s food court. The mall Chick-fil-A will remain open.
Along with the First 100 Give-Away, the restaurant will hand out free food to those who donate children’s books to benefit the Indian River Boys & Girls Club. New and gently used books will be accepted.
