Ronald James Kowalski, 67, of Vero Beach, passed away after a battle with cancer on May 3, 2016.
He was a mechanic in the US Army, a mechanical draftsman, and private pilot. Flying was his passion. He belonged to EAA Chapter 908 and volunteered with his EAA chapter Young Eagles events.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Kowalski was the son of Edmond and Mary Kowalski, who preceded him in death .
Kowalski left this world on his final flight, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was the cherished husband of Kathrynne Kowalski; beloved father of David (Jennifer Vincent) Kowalski, Kateri (Stephen) Gray; adored grandfather of Calvin, Codiak, Cricket, Emma, Nicolas, and Olivia; brother of Sharon (Wayne) Selke, Roger (Diana) Kowalski, Gordon (Irene) Nosakowski; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He held a deep love for his home state of Michigan. He will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery there.
