Dr. Earl George Hilger, Jr., 87, Vero Beach

Dr. Earl George Hilger, Jr., 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 29, 2016.

He is survived by his wife Jean Riley Hilger; children Carolyn (Claude) Cooper of Vero Beach, Randy (Manuela) Hilger of St. Louis, Eugene (BettyJo) Hilger of Ellettsville, Ind., Debra (Cue) Hilger of Columbia; stepchildren Linda (Rich) Geel of Burke, Va., William Simmons of Boulder, Colo., Patrick (Darleen) Simmons of St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren Jennifer Sullivan (daughter Abey), Jonah Sullivan (Jen, daughters Ruth and Nina), Skyler Hilger, Kyle Hilger (wife Aleena), David Hilger, Dalton Hilger, Andrew Geel, Tyler Geel (Lindsey, children, Molly and Hudson), Bethany Geel Pearson (Matthew), Connor Simmons, Katie-Jay Simmons, Alex Simmons and Jessica Simmons.

Hilger was born in St. Louis, and was a life member of the American Dental Association. He was past President of Columbia JAYCEES and Cosmopolitan International Breakfast Club.

Hilger served in US Army Medical, Mannheim, Germany. He practiced dentistry in Fredericktown and Columbia, Mo., and Homestead Air Force Base.

Burial will be in Dix, Ill.
