VERO BEACH — A woman has been bitten by a shark Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened near Costa d’ Este in the 3400 bock of Ocean Drive, Vero Beach.
A woman was swimming 100 yards off shore when it occurred. She was bitten in the thigh and was able to swim back to shore for help.
Members of the Indian River Count Fire Department transported her to the Indian River County Medical Center.
