Cornelia Auxier Perez, 73, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 15, 2016.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years Rene Perez; daughter Bretton P. Jenks (Bryant) of Vero Beach and their children Emily, Ashley and Lauren of Vero Beach; son W. Jason Perez (Susie) of Denver, Colo., and their children Will and Chris of Denver, Colo.; brother Herschel A. “Worth” Auxier (Sandy) of Gainesville, Fla.; nephew Herschel A. Auxier, Jr.; and close family friend Alma Lee Loy.
Perez was born in Miami and moved with her family to Vero Beach in 1948. She was the daughter of the late Herschel and Lucy Auxier.
She attended Abbot Academy prep school in Andover, Mass.,, and received her BA and MA in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Colorado.
Perez was devoted to God, her family and to animal causes. She volunteered for the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County for 35 years which accounts for the 42 rescued dogs and cats who were loved in the Perez home over a period of 40 years, not to mention a few gerbils, rabbits, finches and a possum.

There will be a private family Christian burial at Crestlawn Cemetery. No public visitation or memorial service is planned.
