Donald Wayne Renzi, 75, Vero Beach

Donald Wayne Renzi, 75, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 13, 2016, with family by his side while under Hospice care. He succumbed to cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Donna (Kershner); three sons, David Renzi (Teri) of Arizona, Anthony Renzi and Joseph Whitesell, Jr. both of New Jersey; one daughter, Donna Smith (Troy) of New Jersey; grandchildren, Kelly and Alex Smith, Christopher Renzi, Joseph, Kathrine, Christopher, and James Whitesell; 15 great-grandkids; three brothers, James Renzi (Peggy), Elwood Renzi (Esther) of New Jersey and Dominick Renzi (Joanne) of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Grace Robinson, Sandra Renzi and Linda Robertson (Frank) all of New Jersey.

Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Bonnie Pleger, Sandy Miller (Jerry), Debra Foreman (Dick); brother-in-law Daniel Kershner (Donna); special niece, Donna Jean Stell, and many more nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Grace (nee Smith); two infant sisters, Nancy and Mary and his grandson Anthony W. Renzi, II who recently passed in March of 2015.

Renzi was born in Bridgeton, N.J., where he lived until moving to Fort Pierce in 2014.

He was a graduate of Salem High School the Class of 1959. Right after graduation, he went to work for Wheaton Glass in Millville, N.J. where he worked as a mold maker for 43 years. After his retirement he worked for the Seabrook School System in New Jersey as a maintenance worker for eight years.

Renzi’s passion was his Classic Cars, of which he had many over the years. He belonged to the Garden State 50’s Club, Wheels of Thunder Club and the South Jersey Drifters Club. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, singing with the Choir and teaching the Rangers’ Boys Youth Group at 20th Avenue Church of God in Vero Beach.

His earlier years consisted of singing with the Hopefuls from Ranch Hope for Boys with his first wife Kay (Griffith) Lambert. Anyone that knew Renzi would have known his love for his guitar and his music.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasurer Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 or to Twentieth Avenue Church of God, 775 20th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32962 in memory of Donald Renzi.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A celebration of Don’s life will begin at 6 p.m. with Rev. Jerry D. Shepherd of Twentieth Avenue Church of God, Vero Beach officiating. A memorial Service will be held at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Bridgeton, N.J. at a later date.
