John K. Williams, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away at home on May 9.
He is survived by his sons John, Timothy, Kevin (Kathleen), Christopher (Alyssa) of Florida, Gregory (Andrea) of North Carolina; and a daughter, Patricia D’Avino (Antony) of Ohio. He cherished his grandchildren, Paige and Courtney D’Avino of Ohio, Meghan and Erin Williams, Mary Catherine and John Christopher Williams, Quinn Williams of Florida and Ashton Williams of North Carolina.
He was predeceased by his son Mark.
Williams graduated from St. Benedicts Preparatory School in N.J., and served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war, he attended the University of Delaware for two years and transferred to Seton Hall University where he graduated with honors.
Upon graduating, he was accepted into an Otis Elevator training program, Division of United Technologies, his life long career.
He served in both the Domestic and International Division, working in South America for sixteen years. He was an avid boatman, golfer and tennis player. He belonged to Vero Beach County Club and Sea Oaks Tennis Club.
