Cops: Couple with baby held at gunpoint

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A couple and their infant were held at gunpoint and robbed of their marijuana and prescription pills by the men they had met up with to smoke pot, according to authorities.

The couple took their 3-month-old son with them to meet with two men identified as Andre Martin, 20, and Rochard Dawson, 19, on May 11, with the intent to smoke marijuana with the men, according to Martin and Dawson’s arrest affidavits.

When the couple arrived at Martin’s home, located in the 2000 block of Grey Falcon Circle SW, Dawson held them at gunpoint and said, “Give me everything you have,” according to the affidavits. Martin searched their vehicle, taking marijuana and prescription pills, the affidavits state.

The driver saw an opportunity to escape by putting the vehicle in reverse and fleeing the scene. The couple then notified law enforcement.

Dawson and Martin were subsequently arrested at their respective homes – Martin at Grey Falcon Circle SW and Dawson in the 1500 block of 15th Circle SW.

The men were arrested on felony charges of armed robbery and false imprisonment. They are being held at the county jail in lieu of $125,000 bond each.
