Edward L. Smith, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 7, 2016, at the Indian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Smith and Danielle Brazee of Vero Beach, Barbara Smith and Sherry Smith of St. Petersburg; son Edward Smith of St. Petersburg; life partner Nancy Rowe of Vero Beach; sister Patricia (John) Hickey of Spring Grove, Pa.; brother Bruce Smith of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren Lori, Joseph, Kayla, Alexis, Alicia, Andrea, Malina, Jaylah and Miylah; and great-grandson Aiden.
Smith was born in Baltimore, Md., and moved to Vero Beach in 2005 from Baltimore.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Independence.
He had worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric before retiring after 36 years of service.
Interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
