INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Learn about high-wage careers in the electrical power industry at a special Electrical Power Technology Open House at Indian River State College.
The open house is Thursday, May 12, 6:30 p.m. in Y102, in the Brown Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, located at the IRSC Main Campus in Fort Pierce on the 35th Street side of the campus.
The program partners with more than 30 local and national companies, including Florida Power & Light, placing 95 percent of graduates into high paying careers. Salaries in the industry average over $50,000 a year.
The Open House will inform potential students about how the IRSC Electrical Power Technology Program can prepare them for careers in power plants (nuclear and traditional), including working with solar, wind, transmission, distribution and substations.
