Dean Babcock, 58, Sebastian

Dean Babcock, 58, of Sebastian, passed away on May 7, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones and friends.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years, Nabila; two daughters, Christina Babcock and Melissa Babcock; brothers Dennis Babcock and Roger Babcock, both of Kennett Square, Pa., and Scott Babcock, of Lovettsville, Va.; sister Margo Johnson of Kennett Square, Pa.; and many other fond family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Elizabeth Babcock.

Babcock was born in Wilmington, Del., on Oct. 13, 1957, and graduated from Kennett high School in Kennet Square, Pa., in 1975.

He and Nabila met in Chester County, Pa. They fell in love instantly and were married within two months. Later they would take a leap of faith, move to Florida and run a business. They were life-long partners that complimented each other to grow and be successful in each adventure they took. His loyalty and love was noted by all that knew him.

Babcock was a very talented man who took great pride in all he had done in his life. He was a convenience store operator, worked in restaurants and catering, got into the custom granite business, completed home renovations, and had his last successful adventure as a dedicated through home inspector. He took time and pride in making sure no matter what the job, the clients were happy and accommodated.

He cared about every project and every person as if he were doing it for himself. His famous words were “oh I just read it somewhere” because he knew a little bit about everything.

His favorite pass time was sitting around the fire pit or in front of his garage with good friends and family with a cold beer. His laughter and jives was his trademark. His laughter was contagious. Giving him an 8-day cruise was like winning a million dollars. He was very humble, and content with the small things in life. He valued honor, respect and people living with substance.

He will truly be missed, not only by his wife and daughter, but by the many people whose lives he touched, who he became friends with, and a father figure to. He will be in all our hearts forever, with pride and fond, crazy, fun memories. To you Mr. Dean Babcock, enjoy heaven with no more pain, only cold deer and laughter. No one can ever replace you, my rock and protector. Amen

Viewing will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, with Funeral Service to begin at 1 p.m., at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S Fleming St, Sebastian.
