Commission Chair Solari joins ‘Bike to Work’ movement

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Commission Chairman Bob Solari will be among a bunch of local bicyclists who will be pedaling to work on May 20 for national “Bike to Work” Day.

The cycling Solari will join his fellow board members to designate May 20 as Indian River County’s Bike to Work Day.

Bike to Work Day is celebrated each year during National Bike Month.

The Washington, D.C.-based League of American Cyclists, which has recognized Indian River County as a bicycle friendly community, reports that 40 percent of all trips in the U.S. are less than two miles. That makes bicycling a viable and fun way to get to work.

Here in Indian River County, Bike to Work Day is also part of the Vero Cycling Club activities during National Bike Month.
