Robert C. Southard, 93, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 1, at Indian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his son Michael of Chicago, Ill., daughter Debra Boyd of Mission Viejo, Calif., and four grandchildren. He has two great-grandchildren and a third due very soon.
He was husband to the late Bette Southard for 54 years.
Southard was born June 21, 1922, in New Egypt, N.J., and moved to Vero Beach in 1976. He served in the Pacific in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII where he fought in the battles of Guadalcanal and Peleliu. He was a retired Chevrolet Auto Dealer.
His remains will be interned next to his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
